Wednesday 1st July: Derby Schools City Sports Athletics competition
On Wednesday 1st July our 74 Athletes from Years 7-10, competed against 13 other secondary schools from across the city in the anual city sports athletics competition. It was a tough day of competition due to the hot conditions, but our students showed resilience and determination to succeed to the best of their ability in their chosen track or field event. We are now eagerly awaiting the final results and positions from the time keepers from the school sports partnership. A huge well done to all staff and students from across the city for an excellent performance on the day from all.#TEAMLeesBrook... See MoreSee Less
What an inspiring week for our Year 10 Product Design students! During their visit to a plastic manufacturing company in Northampton, students stepped inside the world of industrial production, seeing how plastic products are designed, developed, and manufactured. Students even had the chance to operate a blow‑moulding machine themselves, experiencing first‑hand how everyday hollow plastic items are made. The trip brought their curriculum to life, connecting classroom learning with real manufacturing environments and giving students a deeper understanding of the processes they study. They also explored multiple manufacturing techniques and heard from apprentices about their training and career journeys, opening their eyes to the world of work and the opportunities available in the design and engineering sector. A fantastic day of learning, creativity, and real‑world experience. ... See MoreSee Less
Performing Arts Students Shine at Cavendish Close Primary School Summer Fair
Our talented KS3 and KS4 Performing Arts students were proud to support Cavendish Close Primary School at their annual Summer Fair, showcasing their creativity, confidence and passion for the performing arts.
The audience was treated to a fantastic variety of performances, including an energetic street dance duo, beautiful performances from the Lees Brook School Choir, a heartfelt guitar and vocal solo, and two entertaining musical theatre solo performances. Each act demonstrated the hard work, dedication and talent of our students, who performed with professionalism and enthusiasm throughout the event.
The gala provided a wonderful opportunity for our students to perform within the local community, while inspiring younger pupils to explore the performing arts. Events like these help to build confidence, develop performance experience and strengthen the links between our school and our local primary schools.
We are incredibly proud of every student who represented Lees Brook Academy so positively. Their commitment, teamwork and passion for performing made the afternoon a great success, and they were fantastic ambassadors for our school. Well done to everyone involved ... See MoreSee Less
