Recently Andy Cope, a local author with a PhD from Loughborough University popped in to give a motivational talk to Year 8 students. The focus themes of his talk were positivity, happiness, resilience and goal setting. Andy is the UK's first 'Dr of Happiness' and his down to earth, simplistic explanations for creating a productive mindset and identifying how to overcome mental barriers were very thought provoking.
Author of the Children's books 'Spy Dog' and 'Art of being a brilliant teenager', Andy was well received and the students contributed throughout. Signed copies of his book 'The Art of Being a Brilliant Teenager' are now available from the library.
