GCSE Art
Fine Art

60% Coursework (Portfolio)
40% Exam (over 2 days, 10 Hours)

Course has a heavy focus on drawing and painting

Need to have a love of art as you will produce a large amount of work outside of the class as well as in.

Weekly homework rotates between Artist Studies and extending class work.

You must have basic art equipment including pencils and pencil crayons.

If you keep up with all of the work set, the course is very enjoyable.

You will be assessed on:

AO1: Develop their ideas through investigations informed by contextual and other sources, demonstrating analytical and cultural understanding.

AO2: Refine their ideas through experimenting and selecting appropriate resources, media, materials, techniques and processes.

AO3: Record ideas, observations and insights relevant to their intentions in visual and/or other forms.

AO4: Present a personal, informed and meaningful response demonstrating analytical and critical understanding, realising intentions and, where appropriate, making connections between visual, written, oral and other elements.
