 Duke of Edinburgh

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme is a big part of Lees Brook. We are proud that over half of our students leave Year 11 having achieved the Bronze or Silver Award. This makes Lees Brook one of the largest licenced organisations for the award in Derbyshire.

What some of our Students say about the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award?

“Before D of E, I lacked confidence and I felt uncomfortable talking to people I didn’t know. Through volunteering in a charity shop, I have grown in confidence. I am now completing my Silver award and volunteer at Bronze D of E training sessions”

“It was a fun, new experience to enjoy with friends”

“D of E was a really fun and memorable experience. It taught me a lot of skills that I won’t forget later in life. I would advise and recommend you to take this opportunity as you won’t get anything like it again”

“I loved D of E so much, it was a really fun experience that helped me make new friends and become more confident in myself”

“D of E helped me to work as a team and lead”

“D of E helped me to improve my communication skills and it was a fun time”

“I achieved the skills of CPR, teamwork and the ability to mix with others and be confident”

“D of E has been an opportunity to get better at teamwork and have fun”

“Very good experience and I would recommend it”

“The expedition was the most challenging thing I have ever done in my life, but I completed it and now have the Bronze D of E Award! It’s taught me anything’s possible if you work hard”
