25 Year 9 students visited Murray Edwards College which is part of the University of Cambridge. We had an early start but arrived on time to negotiate the winding streets of Cambridge to find the college.
Students learnt about the advantages of going to university and in particular going to a “Top University” such as Cambridge, Oxford or any of the other Russell Group Universities. Students also learnt about looking carefully at GCSE and A level options choices to make sure they meet the entry requirements for university courses. They were given a tour of the college by current university students ending in the refectory where the students had lunch. After lunch we took the students on a tour of Cambridge where we saw some of the other university colleges and saw some people punting on the River Cam.
This was a great experience for our students and gave them something to aspire to when considering their future options.
